Help the homeless

February 2017

Sheffield charity the Cathedral Archer Project is asking supporters to get involved in food parcel sorting, breakfast and lunch for homeless people. This year they will again hold their annual sleep-out to draw attention to homelessness and raise vital funds to help.

The number of people sleeping rough in Britain has been rising for six years. Over 4000 people were sleeping out in 2016, more than double the numbers of 2010, according to official figures. This does not include the many people who are homeless but not recorded, staying with friends, etc.

Tracy Vines from the project explains the impact of rough sleeping on cognitive functions in this short video report on Sheffield Live
