Help save Ughill Farm
Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust (SRWT) has bought 132 hectare Ughill Farm, on the western edge of Sheffield. It is a rare and important site for curlews, golden plover and other nationally threatened wading birds. They want to secure Ughill Farm for the future, both for facilitating nature recovery and to test and learn nature-friendly farming practices.
With the support of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, SRWT has ownership but they need help to raise £1.2 million by the end of November 2023, to pay back the Foundation in order to own the land forever, or it will once again go on to the open market.
If SRWT exceed their target then donations will go towards looking after Ughill Farm and setting up the nature-friendly farming activity. If you can support Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust to take full ownership of Ughill Farm, online support is via their website: https://www.wildsheffield.com/ughill/#donation-form.
