Section 9 of the Nationalities and Borders Bill exempts the government from giving notice of decisions to deprive people of their citizenship – leaving people in a vulnerable and precarious state, possibly without even being informed. Just like the Windrush scandal this is a racist and divisive piece of legislation, it must be opposed. Over 300,000 thousand people have signed a petition, yet the government insists it needs this dangerous new power.
