Access Space has moved, after a long winter without premises. The Avec Building, its former home has finally been demolished. The new, temporary venue is “Events Central”, 20-26 Fargate, Sheffield S1 2HE (opposite Marks and Spencer). Hopefully this will continue until Spring next year, thanks to the help of the University of Sheffield and Sheffield City Council.

In July and August 2022 there are two exhibitions of paintings by local artists; Dave Akehurst’s Reflectons of Sheffield and Steve Withington’s Go Monkey!

Since opening in mid June, Access Space has hosted a video installation as part of Sheffield’s festival of documentary film, DocFest. In September they will be part of 2022’s Festival of the Mind. There will be more festival events throughout the year, along with a mix of music, arts and workshop events, many based around Open Source ideas. The return of the open-to-all 20×20 exhibition will be later in the year too, for the first time since 2019. Details will be publicised soon.
