Arts in the Right Place
Visit Arts in the Right PlaceA collective of artists, creatives and performers, on the corner of Exchange Street and Haymarket. (The old Shoezone shop next to the old Wilkinsons/Wilko shop, 2025 update). They run an inclusive arts space, where disabled and non-disabled artists and performers, from different backgrounds and cultures, can come together as one community, to create and enjoy a range of arts.
The space will also include a makers shop selling items made by the Arts in the Right Place community, and a performance space, a stage for people whose stories have been largely untold. Early-career artists welcome, and people from under-represented backgrounds, and those that may have experienced other barriers. Priority will be given to writers and performers who are members of Arts in the Right Place or who are under-represented within the performing arts in the UK, for example, people with disabilities, asylum seekers, people struggling with addiction or mental health problems.
Low cost studio spaces suitable for music production, art or other creative pursuits. Sizes and prices vary, starting from £50 per week. There are other ways to get involved, as a new venue working to house a creative community. Practical skills such as plumbing, joinery or other DIY would be very welcome.
