Independent Labour Publications is hosting this open meeting, as the World is in crisis and the political ground is shifting, threatening progress, democracy, equality and social justice. How should the Left respond to these new challenges? What should it demand of the Labour government? And how do we make sense of the continuing rise of the far right? How do we join with others to defend progressive values and develop radical opposition and alternatives?

The afternoon will also include a reading from author Bill Broady who will talk about his recent historical novel, The Night Soil Men, based on the origins and development of the Independent Labour Party (forerunner of the current ILP).
