Austerity and the Alternatives: an economics masterclass

Sat 9 Apr 2016, 10.30am-5pm Gallery 3, University of Sheffield Students Union, Western Bank S10 2TG

New Economics Foundation (NEF) presents a session exploring why the dominant economic ideas of today place short-term consumerism and the interests of big business over long-term wellbeing and social and environmental justice. In a fun and interactive setting, they ask what we can do to change course. No prior knowledge of economics needed (or indeed useful). Hosted by Christine Berry and Tim Jenkins of NEF. In association with Festival of Debate, hosted by Opus Independents (which also publishes the Alt-Sheff "Localcheck" column in "Now Then" magazine). 'Pay what you feel' on the day. Please register to attend.Festival of Debate - Twitter: @FestOfDebate - #FofD - Facebook
