"Principle Five" Co-operative Resource Centre launch

Yorkshire Co-operative Resource Centre public launch, as a resource base and information centre about the co-operative movement set up by Co-operatives Yorkshire and Humber.Rachael Vorberg-Rugh, co-author of Building Co-operation will give a talk and sign copies of the book which will be on sale.Linda Gomila from the Co-operative Group will be available to answer questions on Widening Opportunities for Women (WOW)"Co-operatives provide education and training for their members, elected representatives, managers, and employees so they can contribute effectively to the development of their co-operatives. They inform the general public - particularly young people and opinion leaders - about the nature and benefits of co-operation". Principle 5 of the international co-operative principles"Principle Five" (Yorkshire Co-operative Resource Centre) is in the process of becoming a multi-stakeholder co-operative for the purpose of co-operative education, as an information hub, library and archive for the co-operative movement in the region, and a friendly and accessible place where anyone can learn more about the movement. It is based at Aizlewood's Mill, Sheffield, a co-operatively owned building and home of the Sheffield Co-operative Development Group.
