Sheffield Renewables reaches the 20000 mark
Update Dec 2009
Sheffield Renewables is a not-for-profit social enterprise developing local renewable energy projects - with ethical volunteering opportunities.
They are now commissioning an independent feasibility study into
using Jordan Dam, on the border between Sheffield and Rotherham, which may possibly produce 380MWh of hydro electricity.
The pledge to invest database has reached £20,000, helping their credibility when talking to banks and funding bodies. They have also been awarded one of five places in a national Community Shares research project, bringing financial advice and training worth £5,000 in exchange for information on progress.
