Peace in the Park asks for charity suggestions
Deadline 29th February 2012
It's the time of year again when Peace in the Park festival puts out a call for all those good causes we could support this summer. As always, one local (Sheffield) charity and one international charity will be supported.
Peace in the Park can offer its nominated charities two very useful things: (1) Donations collected from the festival goers in buckets on the day. (2) Publicity; explaining to the festival's 10,000+ attendees what the charity is about and why it is important.
How can the charities help Peace in the Park? (1) By providing volunteers and publicity for the festival. As an entirely voluntary run event they need as many volunteers as possible to turn up on the day (Sat 9th June, from 12-8pm). There are many roles around the festival from stewarding to site crewing to shaking buckets, stopping passers-by and being really enthusiastic about the nominated causes. Any involvement before the day would also be greatly appreciated.
To nominate a charity: fill in this online form (you don't have to fill in every box, but the more the better) and remember this is a nomination form NOT a voting form - multiple submissions will not increase the chances of a charity being nominated. Alternatively come to one the public meetings on the last Wednesdays of the month. Deadline: last chance to put forward a charity will be the planning meeting on Wed 29th Feb. Voting will take place at the meeting on Tue 6th March.
