Art in the Park is a community environmental arts organisation to inspire people and strengthen communities. Established in 2003 by local artists for creative activities and regeneration, it now extends to open-access art events in green spaces around the whole of Sheffield. They welcome volunteers and community artists to develop different skills and confidence, giving opportunities for creative play for both adults and children. A great forum for people to interact with different members of the community and their everyday environment.

They also run a home shop (Bank House, Market Place, Hope. Tel. 01433 621280) for eco-friendly paints, organic bedlinen and towelling, non-toxic bodycare and cleaning products, gifts and accessories for the sustainable home.

See Green is a new environmental education project which offers eco-friendly, alternative birthday parties including a birthday gift, green goody bags for all party guests, and environmental games, crafts and activities. SDAF is a charitable company working to combat domestic abuse. Membership of the Forum is free, and open to any agency or individual whose work - paid or unpaid - brings them into contact with domestic abuse.
Sheffield Fruitbowl provides safe and affirming support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered young people aged 12-17. It's somewhere young people who identify as LGBT or who are questioning or exploring their emerging sexuality can go to for confidential advice and support.

Doing its bit for recycling, Shrodoba Scrapstore sells arts, craft and scrap materials, and offers art workshops for children and training for adults. It's open to parents and anyone who works or volunteers with children. You may remember it being based on Nursery Street, now it's above Rotherham Market and serving (Sh)effield, (Ro)therham, (Do)ncaster and (Ba)rnsley ... get it? (The clue's in the name!)
This long-established Sheffield organisation offers unique educational resources, workshops and courses in sustainable development, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
With a huge yurt (handmade traditional nomadic tent) the pixies provide a magical autonomous space at events. They share skills, ideas, fun and creativity in DIY low impact living, ancient and recycled crafts, native wild foods, medicinal plants and herbs, survival skills and direct action, not to mention art and music, flow and peace, all in balance with nature.
