Peace Picnic

Sheffield CND & Meersbrook Park Community Walled Garden invite everyone, adults and children, to a Peace Picnic in remembrance of the victims of the atomic bombs that were exploded over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
There will be a ceremony in the Japanese garden, including a message from the mayor of Hiroshima and speeches from local councillors, and The Lord Mayor of Sheffield will lay flowers in commemoration. There will be music and poetry readings. Make some paper cranes or float an origami paper holder for a candle in the water bowl. You are asked to bring a picnic and food to share. Drinks will be available.
The nearest entrance for the Walled Garden is in Brook Road, Meersbrook. Buses: 53 from Pond Street; 20,20A,25,25A from the Peace Gardens to Beeton Road/Chesterfield Road.
