National Demonstration against Racism and Fascism

Amid the biggest rise in support for fascism, the far right, racism, Islamophobia and Antisemitism since the 1930s, a range of national figures are supporting this national protest. The demonstration is initiated by Stand Up To Racism, supported by The People´s Assembly, Unite Against Fascism and Love Music, Hate Racism, backed by the TUC and supported by Diane Abbott MP and John McDonnell MP amongst others.

Nottingham Radical Bookfair

Sheffield has no radical bookfair, but in Nottingham, Five Leaves Bookshop runs one. It includes stalls by national and local publishers, second-hand booksellers and a full supporting programme throughout the day (details on the website). Subjects include (alphabetically) Architecture, Biography, Black British, Book Festival, Bread and Roses, Cultural Studies, Labour History, LGBT, Music, Poetry, Politics, Race, Trade Unions, Travel Writing.

Free, with free events. No need to book. Cafe and bar on site. Full wheelchair access to rooms and facilities. Leaflets/papers on a free table of flyers and giveaways for campaigns and other groups to use.

Rotherham-based Preloved Vintage Wholesale offer tonnes of vintage and retro clothes, for sale at £15 per kilo. Free entry tickets in advance (limited number) or pay £1.50 on the door.

Repair Cafe

The volunteer fixers at Repair Cafe fix broken items for free or donation. Anyone can take broken things for repair, maybe along with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. And they’re always looking for more help, volunteers skills welcome.
